We’re using our Mussels to revive the oceans...

By creating farms designed to restore rather than deplete marine life. Many of the coastal marine areas next to highly populated and industrialised regions, have been categorised as “Dead” zones - areas compromised by erosion, chemical fertilizers and household waste that are suffering from low concentration of oxygen. This has had a devastating impact on a variety of species, endangering job security in the fishery industry, and the environmental state of our planet’s food supply.

Sea Harmony is developing vertical reef mussel-farming technology. Our unique farms are made from durable materials that do not emit pollutants into the water. They can be placed in the open sea, so they do not disturb boat traffic, and this, along with their vertical orientation, allows Sea Harmony’s method of farming to yield maximum harvest. Most importantly, they bring marine life back to the “Dead” zones, restoring the food chain and all of its participants: mussels, shrimps, and fish.

Funding would enable Sea Harmony to…

Complete our technology with a working prototype for the mechanized harvester. This is the last piece of the puzzle, the step we need to make our business solution scalable and applicable to the widest range of conditions. By 2050 the world's population will have increased by 30%, we’ll need more food, yet crop yields are declining. Our open sea technology serves as a source of high quality protein in large and scalable quantities, with zero fertiliser costs, irrigation, feed or any arable land. Sea Harmony’s designs are unique because they aren’t affected by storms and they encourage other marine life to flourish, providing more fish and jobs for fishermen. We want to empower local populations to become actively involved in securing food security, a healthier environment and healthier economy.

When it comes to social entrepreneurship I believe…

A good idea is not enough, you need the right team behind you and the right mentors with you. I am blessed to have both. Working with Arman Sarkisyan, Sea Harmony’s co-founder, I believe we can find a way for human economic activity to co-exist with nature in a healthy and sustainable way.
